The Reading Against Intolerance (RAI) Project is a social impact initiative dedicated to fostering unity and understanding among Nigerian children through the power of storytelling. By providing free access to culturally rich storybooks from the Nigeria Heritage Series, we introduce young readers to the heroes, folklore, and traditions of diverse ethnic and religious groups across the country. Each story is carefully chosen to highlight values of courage, sacrifice, and empathy—planting the seeds of tolerance from an early age.
We want to shape character and build bridges across divides. Through partnerships with schools, communities, and organizations, RAI is on a journey to deliver millions of books nationwide, and to our kids in diaspora, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to explore stories outside their immediate background. We believe that when children read about one another’s heroes, they grow into adults who respect one another’s humanity - creating a stronger, more united Nigeria.
